Kelsey MacDonald to represent Peak on the golf field
"I am absolutely delighted to receive help from Peak Scientific and I can’t wait to represent them!"
Up and coming golf professional, Kelsey MacDonald, tells us more about her and her biggest passion - golf. Having recently been sponsored by Peak Scientific, we are keen to follow her progress and wish her all the best for the rest of season.
A little about me
A Highland lass living in Renfrew. Traveling the world through sport (golf)!
I finished season 2017 strong with a T11th in the ladies Omega Desert Classic at Emirates golf club. I had Katy McNicoll (one of my closest friends) “looping” for me. It was a great way to end the Ladies European tour order of merit schedule and share my best placing of the season with her.
After Dubai I made my way to Africa (Equatorial Guinea) to check off another amazing place on the map. One of the best reasons why I love to play golf!
I finished 6th and fell in love with a chimp called Sam… I can’t wait to visit him again next year!
Kelsey with her new friend Sam
I took some time out at the start of the year as I wasn’t 100%. This allowed me to see family and focus on getting fit for the start of 2018. During my time off I spent a lot of time up north.
My older brother is a primary school teacher at Millbank in Nairn where my journey first started.
He invited me over to chat with his primary 7 class and give them a quick demonstration on golf. It was great to be back and see so many young girls and boys enjoying the sport and giving golf a go.
My first event of the year on the ladies European tour was Morocco.
A solid performance of T30 in a big field with good prize purse.
One of the best events to kick start the season sharing its venue with the men’s European tour.
A huge plus to the week was having my coach Robert Rock there. With his competitive playing schedule it can be difficult to see him between our events, the facilities were unbelievable so it was the perfect week to have him.
What’s coming up next ?
The JABRA, Evian qualifier in France- I fly out on the 28th May.
What I’m most looking forward to?
On the Golf Course- The Scottish Ladies Aberdeen Asset Management open at Gullane.
Off the Golf Course - to listen to Liam Gallagher perform live in Glasgow at the end of June.
