Phillip Lynch, Lab Director at US Cannalytics, talked to us about their use of PEAK’s Genius 1024, alongside their Sciex 6500+ LC-MS, for pesticides and mycotoxin analyses in cannabis flower and derivative products.
We work in close partnership with many instrument manufacturers and the Genius 1024 was designed exclusively to meet the needs of SCIEX LC-MS systems. and is approved by SCIEX for use with all their Research Use Only LC-MS systems. During our discussion, we asked Phillip if there had been any key benefits he had found since switching to a gas generator, compared to the previous gas supply solution. Not surprisingly, not having to change liquid nitrogen dewars anymore was at the top of the list of benefits. As with most labs that switch to a gas generator, this is a huge benefit as it saves labs time, manual labor, and, in the long run, money.

Another universal benefit we see, which Phillip had raised, is the fact he no longer runs out of nitrogen or compressed air as long as the generator is running. Gas on-demand is a huge saving for labs in that there is no wasted gas left in cylinders, you’re only using exactly what your instruments need. The biggest benefit of on-demand gas is that you will never have a cylinder run out of gas mid-analysis, giving you full confidence in your work.
